Boje Arndt Kiesiel (*1973):
Hamburg based artist, grew up in Northern Germany at the Baltic Sea. Since 1989 started with graffiti, engaged in painting and photography, his works were first exhibited with 18. Worked as a free-lance media technician with focus on live camera for business events. Being confronted with the visual manipulation and the exploitation of creativity in the industry, he came back to working as a free artist. The insight gained from the years in the business today is part of his work that regularly deals with the downsides of consumerism, commercial fiction and the consequences of dehumanisation in modern society, or draws on inner spaces as a positive ressource. 2008 Cofounder of artspace nachtspeicher23 e.V. in Hamburg St. Georg for two years.
After a period with abstract works, he now creates mainly figurative motives using elements of Street Art and LowBrow. His work comprises most notably paintings, but also objects, photography and drawings, and combines static presentation with interactive elements.
Lives and works in the artist center Künstlerhaus Wendenstraße in Hamburg, regular exhibitions.
